From sqare one

Scenario: Create a DR/backup database server from leftover Sun 420r server and A5200 FC array.
Notes: no docs, nothing about the system is documented, nothing is plugged in, nothing is known about the machine except that it was pulled from production and still works.

1. Find RJ-45 male connector to attach to serial port.
Problem: console server is Lightwave, so I need a lightwave specific connector.
Takes me 2 days to find one. Pinouts slightly different, got to learn Lightwave console server syntax
2. Learn Lightwave console server syntax
Problem: no docs, so I don't know send break from disconnect hot keys
Esc-Shift-A to disconnect
Need to telnet into console server on port 22
login to login to console server
devlist to see devices connected
connections to see whose connected
select {DEVICE} to select the device
direct to login to device as root
3. Boot box
Non networked so in the event the machine wants to mount NFS or has a predetermined IP or hostnamed assigned to it
4. Find out machine name, some info
/usr/sbin/ifconfig -a
hostname
uname -a
